Amritsar based Tex and Twist to introduce Meta Aramid products that will replace carcinogenic (cancer causing) asbestos in the Indian Industry

 

Technical Textiles is the new buzz in Indian Textile Industry andis one of the most emerging and inventive industries in India. The technical textile industry also has about 9% of the world’s total consumption manufactured in India. These welfare textiles are used for their diverse and multifunctional properties. Technical textiles offer several advantages in their functional aspects for improving health and safety, cost effectiveness, and durability and strength of textile material. In India, this sector is in its nascent stages while on the global stage it’s a multi-million dollar industry. A large number of technical textile products are consumed by different industries like automotive, healthcare, infrastructure, oil and petroleum, among others.

 

Indian companies have been introducing several new developments in Textile technology. Indian companies are developing products using META ARAMID, a textile produced in India which is made from a blend of materials which are environment friendly, lightweight and performs better than Asbestos.Tex and Twist from Amritsar, have introduced these Meta Aramid products to replace the carcinogenic (cancer causing) asbestos in the Indian Industry which were claiming lives of people using them. Following the Make in India philosophy, Indian companies have started producing Technical Textiles for the International Market. Though at a nascent stage, technical textile production in India with the right investment and exposure will definitely compete with international producers. Around175 companies from 10 countries(India + 9 others) will take part in Techtextil 2017.

 

To promote and to create awareness for technical textiles and creating a platform for the latest technologies and innovations at the launch of the Texprocess Pavilion at Techtextil India. Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member of Messe Frankfurt Asia Holding Ltd said, “India is emerging as a powerhouse of both production and consumption of technical textiles. Techtextil India together with the Texprocess Pavilion will allow domestic players to assess machinery and technical know-how for value addition and product diversification in their business besides opening up a new high-potential market for our international exhibitors.”

 

Techtextil India will showcase its 10 product groups and 12 application areas covering the technical textile and nonwoven value chain in its entirety.
